UI Improvements coming soon

Hi all!

Just wanted to say thank you so much for all your support! It’s been a dream to actually release a project I’ve made to the world and even though Kinky Dungeon isn’t finished yet, I’m quite proud of what I’ve been able to put together as the sole programmer.

I wanted to give an update on usability concerns, since people have mentioned that the game UI is daunting, and I agree wholeheartedly!

In that vein I’ve been working on some usability improvements and a cleaner UI, which should be coming soon once I’ve had time to iron out the bugs and make sure I’m not breaking things.

I want to ask if there will be an update in the future where I can see my character from the back? I like the bondage tools and wish there was more of it. Thank you~

at first this game was frustrating due to how helpless you are made to feel and on pretty much every floor. i still get caught frequently but i am started to get the hang of it. 2 things i wanted to mention/ask. 1, i get there is a skill you can only get if you pick the path of pleasure, but I've looked through all shown skills and can't find any tied to the way of discipline. is there one? and if so, what is it/what does it do?
secondly, I've been having trouble understanding how you can decide when clicking on an npc attacks them, and when it just interacts with them. there have been some cases where even if they are hostile, i just want to pass by them without attacking, or there are occasions where even trying to pass by a rescuer ends up attacking them instead, leading to them turning on me. is there something to fix this and I'm just blind, or is this a problem others are having too?

sorry for the long post btw

On the second question, maybe checking the NPC's attitude can help you determine if she's going to attack you. The message box that appears when you move the mouse over them.

You know, most NPCs with negative attitudes will actively attack you. I've found that NPCS with a positive attitude toward you won't fight back even if attacked. Neutral NPCs are a little trouble, and I try to get around them while avoiding possible attacks. If she ignores me, I'll wait until she walks away, then bypass her.

Also, most merchant NPCs will not actively attack, if they get in your way, you can add them to the "pass NPCs" button list.

sorry, English is not my native language. I hope it will be helpful to you.

i've done that, but there have been some occasions where they are friendly/adore me, and it still ends up attacking them, even when i have pass through enabled. i try to avoid having to pass through them as much as possible, but it is not uncommon to get surrounded, leaving no option for doing so without attacking.

you are doing a great job, the game is brilliant, thank you for your work

is the paid itch.io version getting the same updates as patreon?

Patreon gets them first. My patrons tend to be really good beta testers and don’t usually mind the bugs :)

shame but also understandable. as long as I'm not missing out on any cool stuff.

There can only be one web version on itch at a time too

I'm not concerned with the web version. i bought a downloadable copy last week but thanks for the clarification.

that UI looks a lot better compared to the other one, looks much more cleaner.
